The Farmers’ Choir and Farmers Wives’ Choir were formed in September 2013 following a call for past and present young farmer members to take part in the 75th Anniversary Concert of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC).
On 30th November 2013, 160 members came together to form the choirs, taking to the stage at the OVO Hydro Arena, Glasgow.
We all thought this would be a one off but it turned out to be the start of an incredible journey! The choirs have since performed at events all over Scotland, including regular appearances at the Royal Highland Show.
Choir members come from Ayrshire, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Campbeltown, Dumfries & Galloway, Fife, Lanarkshire, Loch Lomond and Perthshire.
Being involved in the choir has brought so many people together – renewing old friendships and creating many wonderful new ones.
